#MondayMessage: Take Care of Yourself.

Mondays always remind me of running—not running in the sense of exercise, but running through the week. Once the week starts, I have so many responsibilities that it is hard to find the time to slow down. I work full time; mentor two girls; work on a nonprofit board; run Blaque & Blue; and on top of that life responsibilities (bills, housework, etc.) just hit all at the wrong moment.  Keeping it all together is hard—just so hard!

And when it all becomes too much, what do I do?  The only thing I know how to do-- cry.  I cry for hours at a time. Sometimes, it makes me feel better and refocus. Other times, it is just a small distraction from my everyday problems. 

Word to all the busy workers and stressed people reading this blog........

 

Remember your impact on the world will be defined by how well you take care of yourself. You will never be able to give your best if you are not at your best! 

Take the time to fill yourself up this week. Take a longer lunch, have quiet time, or go for a run. Whatever makes you happy, do it today so that you can be a blessing to someone this week!
